2nd Korea English Training Program at Paju English Village

Following last year¡Çs successful trip, Mie High School has launched its second English training program in South Korea. This year, 23 students and 2 English teachers are participating in the program, which began on Monday, July 21.

The training takes place at Paju English Village, a government-run educational facility in Gyeonggi Province, where only English is allowed. In the second half of the program, the group will also engage in exchange activities with a local high school in Seoul.

At Paju English Village, students are immersed in a full-English environment that encourages communication through engaging and hands-on activities. They take part in a variety of classes such as Drama, Environmental Issues, and Everyday Conversation. For example, in the drama sessions, students read English scripts and act out scenes. Though many were shy at first, they gradually found their voices and grew more confident in expressing themselves.

In the environmental discussion classes, students exchanged ideas with peers not only from Korea but also from other parts of Asia. These discussions helped students develop a broader, more global perspective on real-world issues.

Throughout the program, students have worked hard and fully committed themselves to their English lessons. They are not only overcoming their fear of using English but also learning the importance of cross-cultural understanding and independent learning.

Thanks to this training, many students are now motivated to set new goals—such as ¡ÈI want to speak more English¡É or ¡ÈI want to work overseas in the future.¡É
At Mie High School, we will continue to strengthen our international education programs to nurture students who are ready to succeed on the global stage.
